Chase to the Cut

At the JCK Show, Kimberlight's Laura Serena (pictured above, centre, with AGS Labs CEO Peter Yantzer and AGS President and CEO Ruth Batson) joined an esteemed panel of "the brightest minds in the diamond profession" to discuss the future of diamonds. Serena's presentation, entitled Chase to the Cut, shed light on the Las Vegas Cut diamonds and the new diamond niche that focuses on cut quality and how the modern consumer should shop to take advantage of new diamond technologies and offers.
The panelist discussion centred on how the age-old way to buy and sell diamonds focused on rarity factors (carat, color and clarity) of the stones. History is changing ... and it's changing now. In just the last few years technology, tools and scientific research have dramatically changed what the profession can do with the rough stone.
Kimberlight and its partners in the profession are part of this radical shift.
A new day is dawning in diamonds. It is now undeniable that diamond cut is what counts and consumers need to learn how light performance should weigh heavily in any diamond purchasing decision.
This session, at one of the world's most important jewellery shows, raised and answered questions about why some diamonds outperform others and how to buy them. Technical insights by AGS Labs CEO Peter Yantzer and Embee Diamond Technologies clarified "digging and painting" that detracts from so many diamond designs on the market and broadened the audience's understanding the finer art of facet definition.
